What it takes to have a strong website presence, so you can have customers find you online.
What is web presence?
Web presence is your entire online profile, generated from your website, forums, social media and any of your online listings in directories.
Why do I need a web presence for my business?
Almost every modern day business needs a web presence. Let’s face it, a huge percentage of the population jump online to find a product or service nowadays, rather than look in the Yellow Pages, as we used to do in the old days.
If you want to get in front of your ideal customer, then it’s vital to have a web presence.
Who can help me with my web presence?
You can. If you’re computer savvy, then you can create a DIY website, setup your own Facebook page, LinkedIn page, directory listings, etc. There are many low cost options out there, from Squarespace, Yola, Wix, WordPress.com, and more. Make sure you shop around and find the best plan for your business.
Or, if you’re not up for spending hours on the computer, you can pay a website builder to get you setup and help you look professional. Just do a Google search for websites {insert your town] and you’ll find a few results to check out.
Where do I start with my web presence?
A great place to start is to setup a Facebook business Page and let all your friends know about your business, or invite them to ‘like’ your page. Next, setup a website and create a LinkedIn profile with links to your website. Don’t forget to add links back to your website, from any web listing you setup, from Facebook to Linkedin to Eventbrite.
When should I get my web presence setup?
As soon as you decide to start your new business, or if you have an existing business, and you feel that your web presence is letting you down, then make a decision to start today.
